A widespread non-migratory warbler. Note thick white brow in South American races. May be split soon (Yellow-crowned in Colombia,Venezuela and Stripe-crowned in Panama/Costa Rica in the HBW taxonomy).

  Very similar to the Black-cheeked Warbler one mountain range further north.
   


Rufous-capped Warbler

Copacabana, Antioquia, Colombia  
   

Seen up to about 1000m. The Rufous-capped Warbler has a light-grey belly and nape in Mexico. The races south of Mexico are sometimes called the Chestnut-capped Warbler.

Tacarcuna Warbler (Basileuterus tacarcunae)
   


Similar to the Pirre Warbler (Darien) and Black-cheeked Warbler (Panama/Costa Rica), but found on the Tacarcuna mountain range.

Common and widespread. Moves in small groups at all levels of forest, sometimes with mixed flocks.
