Genus: Lepidocolaptes (4 species, 12 worldwide)

Lepidocolaptes is a genus of small woodcreepers (17-20cm.) with long thin curved bills and heavy streaking in front and much less on the back.

Note antbird-like call from canopy. A small woodcreeper with heavy streaking in front like Montane Woodcreeper, but unstreaked on back. From a five way split from the Lineated Woodcreeper, and virtually identical to the Inambari Woodcreeper. Found north of Amazon River.

A small woodcreeper with heavy streaking in front like Montane Woodcreeper, but unstreaked on back. From a five way split from the Lineated Woodcreeper, and virtually identical to the Duida Woodcreeper. Found south of Amazon River.

Common and widespread. A medium-sized woodcreeper, usually with mixed flocks.
