Genus: Lepidocolaptes (3 species, 11 worldwide)

Lepidocolaptes is a genus of small woodcreepers (17-20cm.) with thin curved bills and heavy streaking in front and much less on the back.

A small woodcreeper with a short curved bill and vertical streaking in front, but unstreaked on head and back. From a five way split from the Lineated Woodcreeper, and virtually identical to the Inambari Woodcreeper. Found north of Amazon River, west of Leticia, and in the eastern parts of Colombia and Ecuador and northeast Peru.

Common and widespread. A medium-sized woodcreeper, usually with mixed flocks.
