Very similar to [Spot-billed Ground Tyrant], but note slightly smaller size and white belly and buff-colored chest (HBW). In Amazon found on new river islands.

Generally found at higher altitudes in open areas, but may be found down to 1000m. Note yellowish lower mandible base.
