Found at forest edges where there is more light and therefore denser vegetation.

This wren seems to be completely tied to Chusquea bamboo. A subspecies in Peru has a different call and is called the Grey-browed Wren in some taxonomies (Athanas).

Its musical songs are Commonly heard, but it is very difficult to see.
