Small and compact with short bill and olive-yellow wings (HBW). Note white band on underside of tail of male. Female less yellow and somewhat streaked. | ||||||
Common even in urban areas. Expanding range with deforestation. Immatures males often have only a yellow chest band, making then look like a different species. | ||||||||||||||||||
Usually found in marshes deep in tall reeds at all altitudes. Sometimes in large groups. | ||||||
