Genus: Zentrygon (4 species, 8 worldwide)

Genus Zentrygon, Quail-Doves, are the largest American doves, often over 30 cm. in length, and are generally seen on or near the ground and only inside the forest.

Black bill, black malar stripe, brown back, pale front, and russet crown. Stripe between eye and malar stripe buff to brown, and not white as on Ruddy Quail-Dove, which also has a red bill and purple back (male).
