Tiny. Found in upper ranges of Andean cloud forest, at around 2500 m. Note distinctive wing noise in short flights.

More common in the southern end of range. Plain-colored with dull streaking on chest. Note yellow border to wing feathers.

Small size, light colored eye, and dry scrub habitat similar to Pale-eyed Pygmy Tyrant. Check vocal differences, and pearly vent. Note also head is grey and bill is one color (the same color at the base as the tip).
