A medium sized hawk. Immature mimics Ornate Hawk-Eagle in coloration and horizontal barring and colored chest, but without the crest, and with bare legs.

A relatively small and thin North American hawk which migrates south as far as Panama.

Range: SA: Venezuela to w Bolivia
San Sebastian Reserve, Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia
  Pale morph. This hawk may also have a rufous breast but it is not streaked or barred.

A non-migratory version of the small Sharp-shinned Hawk, and often considered the same species. The rufous thigh seems to be a good identifying feature of this species.
