An all dark brown cinclodes, found only at the highest altitudes, often above the snow line.

Found near streams. Similar range to Cordoba Cinclodes, but note greyer back, white on wings, and more scaled breast.

The most attractive of all the cinclodes, and also one of the rarest. Found only in very high elevation bogs in central Peru, the total population is thought to be only a few hundred birds (Athanas).
