A widespread non-migratory warbler. Note thick white brow in South American races. May be split soon (Yellow-crowned in Colombia,Venezuela and Stripe-crowned in Panama/Costa Rica in the HBW taxonomy).

Common and widespread. Moves in small groups at all levels of forest, sometimes with mixed flocks.
