Split in the IOC taxonomy from the Plain Wren along with Cabanis's Wren. Described by HBW as having a yellow eye. Cabanis's Wren has an dark orange eye, as seen on this bird. Birds east of central Costa Rica should be the Isthmian Wren, which have duller colors. |
