A large hummingbird found in Panama and northwest South America, in gardens and at feeders. There is also an isolated population along the Ecuador/Peru border sometimes called the Ecuadorian Plumeleteer. HBW groups that race with the Bronze-tailed Plumeleteer. Cool stretch photo. In flight, front view. Female from back resembling [Crowned Woodnymph]. Both have white-tipped tails. |
Less common than the White-vented Plumeleteer, and only found inside humid forests. Note red feet on both sexes. |
