Note the lack of wing bars from yellow only being on one edge of the primaries. The lower mandible is part dark, part light, and may appear dark if not seen from below. This is now the Amazon species (formerly called Zimmer's Flatbill). The Pacific species is now called Yellow-winged Flatbill.

Note pale lower mandible. Has wing bars unlike Yellow-margined Flatbill or Zimmer's Flatbill. Most races have a light-colored eye. Note broken eye-ring.

Note light pinkish colored eye and contrasting head and body color (Ochre-lored Flatbill is all yellow with dark eye). Found outside of the forest.

Split from the Yellow-breasted Flatbill (now called Ochre-lored Flatbill) and found in more humid habitats. Note lower mandible white but with black tip.
