Very similar to Golden-faced Tyrannulet. Vocal and DNA differences. Usually has a lighter eye, but apparently this is not guaranteed.

An amazing nest-builder. Note light colored eye. The Guianan Tyrannulet in northeast Brazil and the Guyanas was recently split from this species.
