Common even in urban areas. Expanding range with deforestation. Immatures males often have only a yellow chest band, making then look like a different species. | ||||||||||||||||||
Uniformly bright yellow finch found in puna ecosystem, but there are also records from lower altitudes. Two birds foraging in the puna. | ||||||
Usually found in marshes deep in tall reeds at all altitudes. Sometimes in large groups. | ||||||
