Uncommon. Moves with mixed flocks at mid altitude levels in the Andes. Wing bars yellow but often illustrated white. May overlap with Rufous-rumped Antwren, but note white on tail and grey back.
Note white on sides and end of tail.

Vocal. Found in canopy or mid-levels of forest. Note red cap on female. Once called Rufous-winged Antwren.
